A ‘Sharqiyah University (ASU) is a private institution of higher education. Accredited by Oman Authority for Academic Accreditation and Quality Assurance of Education, located in A ‘Sharqiyah North Governorate of the Sultanate of Oman. It is located in Ibra, the capital of the Governorate, which is about 150 km from Muscat. ASU consisting of three colleges was established in 2009 by Ministerial Decision (78/2009) issued by the Ministry of Higher Education, Innovation, and Research. In 2024, student enrolment at ASU exceeded 8,000 with students studying in five colleges offering 48 different degrees, 36 of which are at the undergraduate level and 12 at the graduate level.
