Located 50 miles north of New Orleans and 50 miles east of Baton Rouge, Southeastern Louisiana University enjoys its location in the commercial hub of Tangipahoa Parish. A variety of retail options, restaurants, cultural, and recreational opportunities are available. Its student base is drawn primarily from a six-parish area, including suburban regions of New Orleans (i.e., the “Northshore” region) and Baton Rouge. Growing with the evolving needs of southeast Louisiana, it was recognized in the 1990s as the fastest-growing university in the United States. Today, it is the state’s third largest university, enrolling more than 14,000 undergraduate and graduate students.
