Position description

The Department of Biomedical Engineering, College of Engineering at the University of California, Davis invites applications for a pool of qualified temporary instructors to teach courses. Screening of applicants is ongoing and will continue as needed. A position is open for the Fall 2020 quarter, and possibly subsequent quarters.

Candidates should have an MBA. Applicants must be able to teach core undergraduate courses in entrepreneurship with a focus in new-venture strategies. Preference will be given to candidates with a demonstrated commitment to undergraduate education in entrepreneurship, strong interest and background in new business design and strategy, and a record of effective and innovative teaching at the interface between entrepreneurship, engineering and design.

The duties will include (but are not limited to) teaching or co-teaching a course including: lecturing, holding office hours, grading and administering exams and coursework, managing and mentoring graders and teaching assistants, course preparation, holding discussion or lab sections and additional duties as needed. Engagement with the College’s Student Startup Center (https://startup.ucdavis.edu/) is required, and successful submission and funding of grants related to education is strongly encouraged. Candidates with experience or willingness to engage in activities that contribute to diversity and inclusion are especially encouraged to apply.
