Company Description

Waipapa Taumata Rau | The University of Auckland

The University of Auckland Business School (UABS) is focused on being one of the Asia-Pacific’s foremost business schools, known for the relevance and impact of our research and scholarship and the quality of our people, programmes, and partnerships. It is housed in the purpose-built Sir Owen G Glenn Building, which provides state-of-the-art teaching and learning facilities. UABS is accredited by all three of the world’s top business school accrediting bodies (AACSB in the US, EQUIS in Europe and AMBA in the UK), while the university as a whole is ranked in the top one percent of all universities worldwide (according to the Times Higher Education QS World University Rankings). Auckland is regularly voted as one of the best cities in the world to live. The city is built on a narrow isthmus between two harbours and boasts around 50 volcanic cones. Auckland is nicknamed the 'City of Sails' because of the great number of yachts that sail in the harbours.

The Department of Management and International Business (MIB) is one of seven departments within the UABS. The department is organised in five disciplinary areas: Critical, Māori and Pasifika Studies; Entrepreneurship; Human Resource Management and Organisational Behaviour; Innovation and Strategy; and International Business. The disciplines are taught across the programmes in the UABS, including undergraduate degree, postgraduate taught and research programmes, executive education and PhD. Several research centres are associated with MIB such as Centre for Research on Modern Slavery, Aotearoa Centre for Leadership and Governance, Aotearoa Centre for Enterprising Women, Dame Mira Szaszy Research Centre, and Circular Economy in Business Research Beacon.
