POSITION SUMMARY: The School of Business and Economics at Moravian University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Accounting position starting in Fall 2023. Qualified candidates should have an earned doctorate in Accounting or a closely related field (ABD is acceptable). A law degree can be substituted for those candidates interested in teaching federal income taxation. Professional certification (CPA) preferred. The school has a strong interest in candidates who can teach a wide range of accounting courses in one or more of the following desired fields: federal income taxes, financial accounting, and accounting information systems, including data analytics.
The School of Business and Economics, accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP), advances the values of the liberal arts and professional education through the traditions of Moravian University. The University seeks a balanced teacher-scholar with a commitment to excellent teaching and service, and scholarship that leads to publication.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The standard teaching load, which can include both undergraduate and graduate courses, is 3/3 and may include both in-person and online courses. All faculty in the School of Business and Economics are expected to meaningfully contribute to service that enhances the goals of the university. Service as an academic advisor in the program is required. Opportunities for summer teaching and research grants are available.

QUALIFICATIONS: A Ph.D. or DBA in Accounting or a related field is required; advanced ABDs with an expected finish date of May or Summer 2023 will be considered. A law degree may be substituted for those interested in federal income taxation. CPA preferred.
