Chitavi’s research is driven by the desire to make communities better. “One of the areas that I focus on is the relationship between information and how it influences asset prices. I look at the new sector of algorithmic trading and examine the role of information technology in the capital markets. This means examining prices and how they tend to be discovered in relation to the information that is flowing fast and furious in the public domain. For example, I examine how commodities futures markets have changed due to algorithmic trading .”
