Professor Nourzad has published more than thirty articles in professional journals. Among his publications are articles in the Journal of Macroeconomics, Journal of Money Credit and Banking, Review of Economics and Statistics, Applied Economics, Journal of Post Keynesian Economics,the National Tax Journal, Southern Economic Journal, Journal of economics and Business, and Journal of Economics and finance.
His current research is on the causes of business cycles, the impact of public capital and inflation on productivity and growth, and the causes and consequences of changes in exchange rates.

Dr. Nourzad is the recipient of the Robert and Mary Gettel Faculty Award for Teaching Excellence, 1992.
