Mr. Poole has over twenty-five years experience in the business and education environment with significant experience in marketing and sales administration, operations, customer relationship management, as well as program development. He currently serves as Associate Dean for Graduate and Executive Programs for the Argyros School of Business and Economics at Chapman University.
Prior to joining Chapman, Mr. Poole served as Vice President of Marketing and Product Development at Virtual CEO, Inc., a research and business knowledge company serving the $100+ billion global consulting market. Their clients include such organizations as Deloitte & Touche, Lockheed Martin, UCLA, Department of Defense and Lucent Technologies. As a member of the senior management team, he was responsible for marketing, brand management and the development of products and content that encompassed eight vertical markets in four languages.
Mr. Poole served thirteen years with Pepperdine University where he was Executive Director for all Executive Programs with responsibility for administrative oversight of four executive graduate degree programs and executive non-degreed offerings. Under his leadership, the Executive MBA program was recognized in 1999 by Business Week as one of the “Leading Twenty” in the nation and recently ranked eleventh globally and first overall in ethics.
Prior to Pepperdine, Mr. Poole served as director of marketing for a medium-sized geotechnical engineering firm, held various management positions in the retail industry, and served as department chair for one of the largest performing arts programs in the California public school system.
From 1998-2000, Mr. Poole served as the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Executive MBA Council, a global organization representing nineteen countries encompassing a membership of over three hundred of the top business schools in the world. During his tenure, he expanded the organizations membership into Europe, Asia and Latin America and developed/expanded relationships with AACSB, GMAC and EFMD.
He has been quoted in national and international publications such as U.S. News and World Report, The International Herald Tribune, Business Week and INC. on topics relating to executive education and has been featured on CNBC’s Financial News Network.
