Echoes from the Future: Status and Sustainability in new lifestyle trends
This research project is underpinned by the following questions: how are sustainability imperatives changing the way we consume? Is a shift in social values changing the way in which status is regarded in society, and are new status artefacts emerging that reflect shifts towards sustainable consumption? Our data universe includes businesses in lifestyle industries such as weddings, leisure, travel and sports. We engage multimodality and geosemiotics. http://www.library.auckland.ac.nz/subjects/bus/infosources/statusconsumption.htm
