As a business leader focused on go-to-market strategy and sales, Bridget Akinc led marketing teams and strategic sales initiatives for high-growth Silicon-Valley based software companies like BEA Systems (acquired by Oracle) and a Kleiner Perkins enterprise software start-up. Over the past six years, she served as vice president and general manager of a retail business operating thirty-five stores in 12 states. Akinc began her business career as a consultant in the information technology practice at the Boston Consulting Group.
Adept at bridging technical and business domains, she served as a lecturer in entrepreneurial product marketing at MIT in the spring 2013. Ever since her undergraduate years majoring in education policy at Princeton University, Akinc has maintained an interest in the convergence of education and technology. She served as the founding CTO for The New Teacher Project in 2000, and in the course of completing her Executive MBA at MIT’s Sloan School of Management, Akinc founded a non-profit aimed at helping novice teachers serving low-income schools.
