Position Summary:
The Assistant/Associate Director will assist the MBA Director in the growth of our MBA programs, as well as improving the outreach, engagement, and student experience of all MBA programs in the School of Business. The rank of the position will be based on qualifications and experience.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
Improve the Outreach of Stevens’ MBA programs
Work with the Program Director and others in the School of Business to improve overall outreach of the MBA programs (Stevens MBA, Analytics MBA, Executive MBA).
Work with the Program Coordinator and our internal alumni development/alumni officer to improve the alumni database and develop opportunities to engage the alumni in the program in terms of lectures, internships/placement, and philanthropy. Work with the School’s Office of Communication and Marketing to create promotional materials, FAQs, and news items as appropriate to MBA Programs.
Improve student engagement and create a first rate student experience
Collaborate with SSB’s Center for Student Success (CSS) to develop a first-rate student experience environment for the students of the MBA programs and achieve student success.
Work with the CSS to develop professional development activities, including workshops, lecture series, field trips, company visits, visiting leaders and entrepreneurs, student clubs, hackathons, and more, to provide an exciting and enjoyable learning experience and professional development environment. Work with faculty and the CSS to improve student advising.
Assist in creating on campus immersion experience for Online MBA students
Collaborate with director and faculty to develop a top-notch immersion experience for our online student population
Work with faculty and industry experts to ensure a full learning experience for these students on campus and in NYC region Handle logistics of room and board for students while they are visiting campus
Assist in event management for SSB graduate management events
Organize board of advisor meetings for Management programs Work with director of bringing conferences to campus and facilitating all aspects of the conferences, including the MAACBA conference.
Job Qualifications:
- Candidate must hold a degree in Business, and preferably an MBA.
- Candidate with an understanding of international students is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in higher education is required; preferably experience in the development and growth of MBA programs.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, reporting skills, organization, data analytics, time management, and experience in operational logistics.
- Ability to independently self-organize, multi-task, and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
- Ability to prioritize among multiple stakeholders and concurrent requests.
- Digital savviness - Knowledge of MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint required. Knowledge of SLATE, Salesforce and Workday is a plus.
Working Conditions:
- Hybrid office environment with a combination of a traditional office and working remotely.
- The position requires flexibility in working hours according to workload.
- Moderate need to work hours outside of typical business hours, including early morning, evenings and weekends in conjunction with classes and events.
