The Department of Accounting and Finance at Illinois Wesleyan University invites applications for two tenure line positions in Finance at the assistant or associate professor level who are dedicated to educating a diverse student body in a liberal arts environment. Employment will begin August 2022. We seek dynamic, caring academic professionals with evidence of teaching excellence who are dedicated to undergraduate education in a liberal arts environment. Candidates must have graduated from a regionally accredited institution. Each position requires a minimum of an MS in Finance or a CFA, although a terminal degree is preferred. Relevant professional work experience in the field of finance is also required. One of these positions requires experience in equity analysis and money management, and the candidate hired will be responsible for overseeing the student-managed investment fund. The second candidate will require training and experience in more traditional areas of finance, as well as an interest in developing a new program in financial planning. In addition to teaching, these positions require advising and mentoring finance students, fostering relationships with external organizations for the benefit of our students, assisting with curriculum management, participating in campus committees, and engaging in appropriate scholarship.

The Department of Accounting and Finance has a need for candidates who will be able to teach a variety of undergraduate finance courses at all levels (financial management, investments, financial statement analysis, or insurance courses) in a liberal arts environment. The standard teaching load is six courses per year. The department currently has a single Bloomberg terminal for use for students in the Portfolio Management class as well as for faculty research but is in the process of installing a state-of-the-art Bloomberg lab with multiple terminals. In addition, the departments of Accounting and Finance, Business Administration and Economics are in the process of joining into a single entity titled the School of Business and Economics.
