The Lewis Honors College at the University of Kentucky is pleased to invite applications for a full-time, nine-month, non-tenure track, Endowed Scholar in Entrepreneurship and Free Enterprise, a senior lecturer position, beginning in Fall 2022. The contract is for two years and renewable. The specific academic home for the position will be in the Lewis Honors College, but the successful candidate will be expected to cultivate a mutually beneficial academic relationship with a department in the Gatton College of Business and Economics that aligns with their qualifications and interests, such as the Department of Management, Economics, or Finance and Quantitative Methods. The primary job responsibility will be teaching classes to undergraduate honors students focused on entrepreneurship and/or economics. Other duties may include working with students in the University’s Von Allmen Center for Entrepreneurship or the Institute for the Study of Free Enterprise, developing internship and job placement opportunities, and offering special programs and activities related to the candidate’s expertise. Typically, the distribution of effort will be 75% teaching, 18% program administration/service, 5% research/scholarship, and 2% Professional Development.

Given the COVID-19 pandemic, and the need to protect our university community including our students, staff, faculty and visitors, the University of Kentucky is requiring COVID-19 vaccination for all new hires prior to starting employment. Therefore, as of October 18, 2021, all new hires prior to their first day of employment must submit appropriate documentation showing, i) completion of the first vaccination against COVID-19, or ii) completion of the full vaccination series against COVID-19, or iii) approved exemption (medical contraindications or a sincerely held religious belief) through the formal exemption process from the COVID-19 vaccination requirement. For those employees who have completed the first vaccination against COVID-19 prior to their first day of employment, the second vaccination (if applicable) must be completed following the vaccination recommended schedule to be considered fully vaccinated.
